Privacy policy

Cattailmere draws a destiny matrix chart from your birth date, and sends your full reading by email if you ask for it. This page says what we keep, who helps us run the site, and how to have your details deleted.

We never sell your birth details, and we don't sell or rent any of your information.

What we keep

Drawing a chart needs only your birth date. Everything else on this list is kept only when you take the step it names.

  • Your birth date

    When:
    When you draw a chart, we use it to calculate the chart and don't store it. We store it only if you ask for your full reading.
    Used for:
    To write your reading and show your chart on your profile.

  • Your email address

    When:
    When you ask for your full reading, or create an account.
    Used for:
    To send the links you ask for (your profile link and sign-in links) and at most one reminder. No newsletters.

  • Your reading

    When:
    The first time you open your profile.
    Used for:
    It is written once from your chart's numbers and saved, so your profile shows the same reading every time.

  • A hashed form of your IP address

    When:
    When you draw a chart.
    Used for:
    To allow one free chart a day. We keep the hash and the date, not the address itself.

  • The ad you came from

    When:
    When you arrive from an ad link.
    Used for:
    The click ID and campaign name in the link show us which ads lead people to their chart.

  • How you use the site

    When:
    When you visit.
    Used for:
    Pages you view and steps you take, such as drawing a chart, with your browser, device and approximate location, so we can see what works. This can include a recording of how the page was used, with what you type into fields masked.

Who else handles it

A few services run parts of Cattailmere for us. Each one handles only what its job needs. We also share information when the law requires it.

Supabase
Stores your email, birth date, reading and the daily-limit records, and runs sign-in.
Resend
Sends our emails, so it receives your email address.
Anthropic
Writes your reading. It receives only your chart's numbers and the section names, never your email or birth date.
PostHog
Measures how the site is used.
Vercel
Hosts the site, so it handles the requests your browser sends, including your IP address.

Cookies and browser storage

We use no advertising cookies from other companies. These are the ones we set.

Analytics
PostHog keeps an anonymous ID in a cookie and in your browser's local storage, so a return visit counts as the same visitor. It lasts up to a year.
Ad click
Set only when you arrive from an ad link. It holds that link's click ID for 90 days.
Sign-in
Set when you open your profile link or sign in, so you stay signed in. One of them also tells our analytics which account is visiting.
Ad campaign
The campaign details from an ad link, kept in this tab's session storage and cleared when you close it.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The chart still works without them; your profile needs the sign-in cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep your email, birth date and reading until you ask us to delete them or Cattailmere closes. The ad click cookie expires after 90 days and the analytics cookie after a year, unless you clear them sooner.

Your choices

To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, email hello@cattailmere.com from the address you used. We check the request with that address before we act, then reply when it's done.

Depending on where you live, including California, you may have the right to know, correct and delete the information we hold. Write to the same address to use them. Asking won't change the service you get.

We send no newsletters. Apart from the links you ask for, you get at most one reminder email.

Children

Cattailmere is for adults. We don't knowingly collect details from anyone under 13. If you think a child has given us theirs, email hello@cattailmere.com and we'll delete them.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If a change affects details you've already given us, we'll email you before it takes effect.
